WHAT IS IT?
There are two basic kinds of Scoliosis:
Idiopathic and Congenital
IDiOPATHIC SCOLIOSIS
This is the most common form of Scoliosis, 8 in 10 cases are idiopathic. It’s cause remains unknown.
Congenital Scoliosis
This form of Scoliosis presents itself at birth, meaning a person is born with it.
What causes it?
Scoliosis is when a normal spine presents a sideways curve.

How do you treat it?
There are SEVERAL ways to treat Scoliosis based on the severity of the curve and the activity of the person.
Chiropractic, bracing and surgery are some of the treatment methods used.
There are also several alternative methods including:
Acupuncture, Yoga and Asymmetric Strengthening.
It is IMPORTANT you choose the method best for you. Everyone is DIFFERENT and UNIQUE.
What is scoliosis awareness?
There are many unanswered questions about Scoliosis.
Scoliosis affects approximately 3% of the population worldwide.
Over seven million people in the United States alone have been diagnosed with Scoliosis.
There are also several cases that remain undiagnosed or undetected.
We create awareness by talking about Scoliosis,
acknowledging that it exists, that it can create many physical complications,
and that each and every case is different and unique.
Because there are so many unknown factors, it is important to engage
in the Scoliosis community, so we can learn ways to help deal with
the physical and mental challenges that those with Scoliosis face.
